Troubles End Brewing
▲ INTRO
How L+G helped a popular brewery skip a costly expansion, and build a
smarter, scalable path to growth.
Troubles End Brewing had a vision: more space, more tables, more diners. But what they really needed was a better business model. When they asked us to evaluate a restaurant expansion in their multi-tenant building, we priced it out and then asked the harder question: If this works exactly as planned, does it actually make you more money? The answer changed everything.
▲ STRATEGY
Getting Back to a Real Return
Troubles End was planning to expand across a fragmented footprint they didn’t own, an expensive bet that would create operational headaches without meaningful return.
After conducting a feasibility study, we gave them two paths: the renovation they asked for, and a smarter, lower-cost plan that aligned with their real ambitions. They took our alternate path and ran with it, revisiting their business plan, shifting from a dine-in expansion to a scalable production model.
▲ DESIGN
From Restaurant to Revenue Engine
We helped Troubles End reimagine their operations with a new canning facility and bottle shop that could drive sales beyond the taproom. To make it happen, we had to understand their brewing process as well as they did.
That meant:
Optimizing for production layout
Ensuring minimal disruption to surrounding businesses
Complying with all regulatory requirements
The space now works harder, and pays off faster. Cheers to that.
▲ IMPLEMENTATION
Where Pints Meet Profits
The existing site came with baggage: aging infrastructure, tricky logistics, and strict licensing standards. L+G managed all of it. From plumbing retrofits to system integration, we handled the constraints so Troubles End could focus on growth. The final plan delivered more usable square footage, more flexibility, and a dramatically lower price tag.
▲ CONCLUSION
What’s the ROA?
Over 50% reduction in price from the original expansion plan.
This wasn’t a design project. It was a business decision. By stepping back and aligning architecture with revenue strategy, L+G helped Troubles End avoid a costly misstep and build toward something bigger. Now, they’re positioned to scale, with a model that multiplies impact far beyond one address.
